The brief for this image was called "Flatten". I used the image gave to me and decided to blend it into a pancake. Using a mask tool and colour correction i blended the picture into the pancake. I then used a screen blending option to blend it in further. I would have wanted to put it into a frying pan but i could not find a picture that would work with it. I found the Panckae image off of Google but cut it out of a separate image.
The theme of this image was sparkle. The original image was a diamond, so i thought it would be a good idea to fit them into someones eyes. But it didn't want to just put it in any body's random eyes because i had already seen that on the website entry's. So i thought why not put them in something a lot cooler than a humans eye, which brought me to Prime. By using hue and saturation i changed the colour of optimus. Then using some brushes that i got off the internet, i created a fire background. then i duplicated the diamonds and flipped one and erased the appropriate parts so that the eyes would fit. I then put a smokaey effect on the eyes as well as turning up the brightness to make them sparkle and stand out.

This image was of a swan in a lake. (original image below). To create this image i used a simple glow effect style to aluminate the swan. First of all on a new layer i created 4 white rectangles and placed them behind the swan. I then dublicated them and used guassian blur to make them glow. After that i smuged teh end of them to make them look like beams. I then merged and duplicated them and made this new layer opaque and repeated the process of smudging. I then created a new brush that had shape dynamics and scatter. This game the beams a bubbly water effect. Then using colour blend I adjuted the brightness and glow of the light beams. I then merged all the light beams and but a filter over the swan so that it would fit in the theme of the entire image.
The original image of the swan.
This is the next contest that i entered. And this is the image that the website gave.
To create this image I first got images of an, x wing, a Jedi robe, a lightsaber and a desert landscape. First of all I created layer masks on the images so that i could use the parts i wanted, for example getting rid of the white. To get the robe right I used the liquidize tool to shape it correctly. The lightsaber was easy, I just got the base image and then used the selection tool to select a rectangle. I then used Gaussian blur to give it glowing effect. Then I added the background which was the desert and created the sunset myself by using a brush tool, then i used colour correction to blend it in with the desert. Then by using a layer mask i used the gradient tool to blend them together. Then i duplicated the x wing's and filled them black. I then merged and gave them a motion blur effect. I then duplicated and scaled, then Gaussian blur to give the shadow effect on the floor. Then I turned down the opacity.
The inspiration behind this idea was to use the squirrel as imaginatively as possible. The squirrel was holding on to some kind of metal pole and i thought of maybe putting something in the squirrels hands, maybe having loads of squirrels and making an army. I thought it might be quite comical to put two army's and having them fight over one nut. But this proved to difficult to do at my level of skill. So i diced to think more sci-fi. This brought me to the idea of star wars. Then i thought to take the squirrel completely out of its comfort zone to make the image seem more striking. Then i started to develop this idea.
